Sheepskin Deposit-Waitlist
Sheepskins are sourced from farms in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky and from our own flock. Those that come from other farms would have been discarded and left for trash. We are transforming these beauties by hand to give you a beautifully, eco-friendly and locally sourced product. They are tanned using egg or brain tanned, depending on availability of the either source. Brain and egg tanning is just what it seems. Using the animal brains or eggs to tan the hide. After tanning, they are smoked over fire to “set” the tan and then washed. Tanning hides is an ancient skill, and we are so happy to have the opportunity to provide your home, car, camper, etc. with one (or two, or as many as you would like). Pricing varies due to the length of the wool, my time and effort, and the size of the finished product. Ranges will likely be within $250-$500. Most will fall in the $275-$300 range. Pricing depends on the size of the sheepskin, wool length and whether or not they are from our own flock. Sheepskins from our flock are going to be in the $300 and up range. Occasionally I’ll have smaller hides for under $200.
How does this work? Deposit holders are notified first (in the order in which you placed your deposit) and get first chance at any sheepskin offered for sale BEFORE anyone else does! You can provide the dimensions, color or style you are looking for and Bethany can keep that in mind when choosing sheepskins from the butcher. When it is your turn, you can pass if the sheepskin is not exactly what you are looking for, and then it is offered to the next person in line, and so on. Deposit holders will be notified via email and have 24 hours to claim the sheepskin. If they do not respond, I will move on to the next person. If they want the sheepskin, they have 24 hours to send payment upon receipt of invoice. If I do not receive payment, I’ll move on to the next person. I cannot hold hides and wait for payments for days. Sheepskins are non-refundable. If you are unhappy with your hide, you will receive a credit for another sheepskin or other farm product(s).T

If all the waitlister’s pass on the sheepskin, it is offered to the public via instagram and Facebook. This is a great way to make sure that you do not miss out on sheepskins, because they do sell quickly!
